Happy New Year, friends! For my first post of the year, I am so happy to be sharing the news that I am engaged!! Yes, it's time for the wedding planner to be the bride!

My sweet fiancé Charles proposed while we were celebrating the holidays with his family in Texas, and I was so surprised! After a go-cart-led scavenger hunt (one of his family's traditions), I was looking for the next clue behind the Christmas tree when he said my name, and I turned to find him on one knee.

We had the holidays to enjoy and share our engagement with family and friends, and then we were off to Maui for my family's annual vacation and for the wedding planning! That's right, folks, we will be tying the knot January 14, 2016 in Maui! We are planning a very small and intimate affair with five days of activites for our guests and a BBQ on the mainland after the wedding. After years of planning events for others, I know what I want but am also tortured by the agony of decision-making that plagues all brides-to-be. I am just following my gut instinct and trying to get everything done before April and my wedding planning season!

I will be sharing my wedding details and words of wisdom along the way. Please stay tuned to see how I fuse Charles' organic, outdoorsy style with my ostentatious glam and love of glitter! I will be selecting all my vendors, buying the dress, having a bachelorette party, and managing and enjoying the stress that is planning a wedding. I can't wait!
